Togo :Lomé has a new terminal to cater for 2m passengers

Togo-Economy-International airport to be  extended

LIBREVILLE, Jan 20 (Infosplusgabon) - The new international airport terminal of Lomé now under construction will cater for about two million passengers a year, compared to 400,000 presently,  according to the Civil Aviation National Agency (CANA).

 

 

CANA’s Director General, Col. Gnama Dokissime Latta,  said the new airport terminal, which will be completed by the end of the year, will have an area of 21,000 square meters and will be equipped with 30 registration counters.  He said the parking space for planes will also be extended.

 

The new terminal will be equipped with the latest scanners, explosives detectors and a magnetic entrance, among others, to enhance security, according to Col. Dokissime  Latta.

 

The construction is being carried out by the China Airport Construction Corporation and funded by the China Exim Bank at a cost of US$150 million.
