Breaking News: Kenya's opposition leader, Odinga, takes Presidential oath of office

Nairobi, Kenya, January 30 (Infosplusgabon) - Kenya's opposition leader, Raila Odinga, has taken the Presidential oath of office and vowed to end a culture of rigged elections.

At a ceremony witnessed by thousands of his supporters in Nairobi, Odinga's deputy, Kalonzo Musyoka, did not make it to the ceremony after the government withdrew his security.


Odinga said the oath of office was a determination by his coalition to put an end to the culture of election rigging.


The Controversial oath ceremony was conducted by an Advocate of the High Court, Tom Kajwang, a Member of Parliament.


The ceremony came several hours after the government switched off several private television stations.
