FREETOWN,  Sierra Leone, September 12 (Infosplusgabon) - The Captain of Sierra Leonean national team, Yeami Dumbuya, says his team is well prepared to face their Nigerian counterparts on Monday in the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament.

Sierra Leone and Nigeria meet on Monday in a Zone A knockout match which will determine the qualifier for the second-round.

In an interview with the Sierra Leonean FA media team, the skipper said: “I see us in a better position to eliminate the Nigerians due to the fact that we’ve been together for a while. It will be a tough test."

However, Dumbuya said the team is up for the challenge and would try very hard to compensate for the hard work the technical team has put in them over the last few weeks.

Sierra Leone have not had a functioning premier league in the country for the last three years, most of the players have been playing mini leagues across the country to stay fit, a situation that might affect the competitive edge of the Leone Stars team, while the Super Eagles have a formidable team from a vibrant league.
