Tripoli, Libya, December 3 (Infosplusgabon) - The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said here Wednesday it was deeply concerned with the disappearance of Dr Siddiq Khalfallah Ben Della, deputy director of Al-Khadra Hospital, abducted Tuesday afternoon in Tripoli.

In a statement, the UNSMIL said Dr. Ben Della, a 66-year-old university professor, was a well-known orthopedist surgeon.

"Dr Ben Della’s car fell in an ambush and taken away by gunmen dressed in uniform," said the UN Mission.

It added that his whereabouts were still unknown, calling for his immediate and unconditional release. It also expressed concern "with the increasing criminality in Libya by gunmen, who operate in all impunity".
