FREETOWN, Sierra Leone, September 29 (Infosplusgabon) - The Chief Medical Officer in Sierra Leone, Dr Brima Kargbo, has denied rumours that Ebola has resurfaced in the country.

The rumours broke out on Thursday night after a 7-year-old girl, who was bleeding, was rushed to a hospital.

In an interview with the media on Friday, Dr Kargbo said: “The young girl has been tested, and she is negative for Ebola and Lassa fever.”

This has come as a huge relief to the country, considering recent tragedies of mudslides and floods in the capital. However, health authorities say they are still investigating the cause of the young girls condition.

In 2014, Sierra Leone was hit by an Ebola outbreak that killed thousands of people.
