KIGALI, Rwanda, September 29 (Infosplusgabon) - Two Rwandan clubs will leave Kigali on Saturday for Kampala, Uganda, to participate in the 2017 FIBA Zone 5 Basketball Club Championship scheduled to be played at Lugogo stadium, a statement said on Friday in Kigali.

They are the military side APR BBC in women category and Patriots BBC in the men's category.

IPRC-South, which won the playoffs this year, was another Rwanda's representative in the same competition, but the team management decided to cancel their participation.

The IPRC-South team management took the decision because they felt they were discriminated against as other clubs were given air tickets but they were to travel by road.

Clubs expected in the competition come from hosts Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Burundi and Egypt.

The championship is a regional club competition that attracts the League champions

from eastern Africa.

The two clubs that finish top of the Zone 5 Qualifiers will participate in the final round FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup.
