Coronavirus: Tunisia's confirmed cases up by six to 60


Tunis Tunisia, March 21 (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisia has registered six new cases of coronavirus following tests carried out on 126 suspected cases, bringing the number of confirmed patients to 60, the Tunisian Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.


The Ministry said 41 cases were imported while 19 came from local contamination.


The Director General of the Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases of the Tunisian Ministry of Health, Insaf Ben Alaya, said that a total of 11,863 people have been quarantined with 4,422 completing their period of health surveillance.


The average age of the patients is 56.6 years, with equal number of men and women. Fifty patients are Tunisians while 10 are foreigners.


Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport announced on Saturday in a statement that all domestic flights will be suspended from Sunday until further notice.


The measure follows a meeting on Friday of the National Security Council under the chairmanship President Kais Saied.
