Tunis, Tunisia, September 12 (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisia will on 24 and 25 September host the Second African summit of start-ups, "Afric'Up", on the theme "Smart cities and open renewal in Africa: what opportunities for start-ups".

A total of 1,200 participants, including representatives from nearly 500 African start-ups, a dozen African ministers, as well as young talents from 30 African nations and African, European and American investors are expected to attend,  TPM Group CEO, Skander Haddar, organiser of the summit, said.

"The Africa Start up Summit aims to promote a culture of innovation and shared growth ... and will include conferences and workshops that will be hosted by more than 150 renowned speakers and investors," Haddar added.

It will also be an opportunity to organise the competition for the best mobile e-commerce application, he added.

The German Agency for International Cooperation said that the "invest in Africa" programme, launched in 2016 by the agency between European countries and five African countries (Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia, Ghana and Rwanda), aims to help the continent strengthen its great innovation opportunities and link promising African start-ups to major international groups.

This network is based on four main areas: improving the efficiency and financing of start-ups, making their presence in the markets better, strengthening their skills and establishing coordination with the private sector.
