Brazzaville, Congo, July 11 (Infosplusgabon) - The US ambassador in Congo, Todd Haskell, Wednesday announced here the opening of a US trade chamber meant to bring and share the American innovation on the Congolese territory.

"The spirit of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship is part of the American dream. We remained committed to back the efforts made by the US government and the civil society organisations to promote democracy and equality for all citizens," ambassador Todd Haskell said at the celebration of the 243rd anniversary of the United States independence.

The US diplomat underlined that despite the dynamism of the United States to draw US investments and American business people, the success of Congolese companies would depend on a transparent fiscal system and reliable partners, infrastructure, operational and reliable banking systems.

"The barriers in terms of visas should as well be lifted," concluded Haskell.

The chairman of the US Chamber of Trade, Sherif Azmi, said that an office called "Weatherford" had been established in Pointe-Noire, Congo’s main economic and industrial center, in the south, about three weeks ago.

"The potentialities in terms of natural and human resources which exist in Congo will enable American investors to raise the level of that economic sector," said Azmi.
