Tripoli, Libya, June 25 (Infosplusgabon) - Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Taher Siala has said countries of the North African region attach great importance to strengthening the partnership between China and African countries, as clearly stated in the Beijing Summit Declaration.

This position was expressed by Mr Siala, on behalf of the North African countries, at the ministerial meeting of coordinators responsible for monitoring the implementation of the recommendations and procedures of the Beijing Summit on the Forum on Sino-African cooperation, said a statement from the Information Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

According to the statement, Mr. Siala expressed "the determination of the countries of the region to contribute effectively to the implementation of the recommendations of the Beijing Summit at all levels in order to achieve the goal of building a common destiny between China and Africa".

He also stressed that the countries of the region were preparing national programs to monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the Beijing Summit through coordination between different sectors of government to enable them to cooperate with the Chinese part of the Forum.

China welcomes the work of the ministerial meeting, which began Monday, in the presence of the president who met the participants and assured them that Beijing will continue to advance the strategic partnership with Africa.

China has invested $ 5 billion in Libya on its total investment in Africa estimated at $ 20 billion.
