Campaign for Mauritania's 22 June presidential election begins

Nouakchott, Mauritania, June 10 (Infosplusgabon) - Campaign for the 22 June presidential election in Mauritania started on Thursday evening with candidates holding rallies.

 

In a message to the nation, President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, who is not contesting because he has served his constitutionally-mandated second term, urged candidates and citizens to make the election "an opportunity to prove their attachment to the homeland and to democracy".
