2018 FIFA U-17 WWC: New Zealand beat Japan 4-3 on penalties to reach semi-final

Montevideo, Uruguay, November  25 (Infosplusgabon) - New Zealand on Saturday beat Japan 4-3 on penalties in their quarter-final match at Estadio Alberto Suppici, Colonia Del Sacramento, to reach the semi-final of the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup tournament in Uruguay.

 

 

The match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and New Zealand won the penalty shootout 4-3.

 

The first quarter-final encounter earlier in the day between Spain and Democratic People's Republic of Korea was also settled by penalties with Spain emerging 3-1 winners after their match finished 1-1.
