Moscow, Russia, June  23 (Infosplusgabon) - Five-star Belgium thrashed Tunisia 5-2 in their Group G match at the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament played at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow, virtually consigning the North African country to early elimination, following the poor performances of Egypt and Morocco.

Parading several players in the English Premier League, Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard scored a brace each while Michy Batshuayi added the fifth to put Belgium at the top of the group with six points. Belgium has now scored 8 goals in two matches.

Hazard opened the Belgians’ account with a cheeky penalty after seven minutes when the VAR confirmed the referee’s decision that he was brought down in the penalty box. He sent the Tunisian goalkeeper Farouk Mustapha the wrong way despite barely moving away from the ball.

Lukaku made it 2-0 in the 16th minute but Dylan Bronn was on target for the Tunisians in 18th minute to make it 2-1.

Lukaku stroked the ball into the net to make it 3-1 deep inside stoppage time with the last kick of the first half.

Hazard made it 4-1 in the 51st minute when he picked a through ball from Toby Alderweireld and put it past the Tunisian goalkeeper.

Substitute Batshuayi, who had missed at least two chances earlier since his introduction in the 68th minute for Hazard, made amends when he met Youri Tielemans cross to beat Mustapha bringing the score to 5-1.

But the Tunisians never gave up and got a goal three minutes into stoppage time through Wahbi Khazri to bring the final score to 5-2.

Egypt and Morocco are already out and Tunisia's exit will be another blow to the African contingent.
